Five days gives you enough slack to do the park properly: the signature boat tour, a full south-side day, one demanding hike on the best-weather day, and a genuine buffer day — instead of gambling everything on one forecast.
Day 1: Arrive and orient
Settle in, stop at the visitor centre, and keep the day easy: Lobster Cove Head, the Berry Hill Pond loop, and dinner in town.
Day 2: Western Brook Pond
Book the boat tour as early in your trip as your schedule allows, so a weather-related reschedule still leaves you options. Add Broom Point or Baker's Brook Falls on the same day if energy allows.
Day 3: Gros Morne Mountain (best-weather day)
Save this for whichever day in your trip has the clearest forecast — the summit route is exposed and not worth forcing in poor conditions. Check the seasonal closure (May 1 to late June) before you go; see our research summary on why it closes.
Day 4: South side
A full day for the south side: the Tablelands, Woody Point and Trout River. Consider the seasonal Norris Point–Woody Point water taxi if you're not driving the full loop.
Day 5: Buffer day
